Review of Serendipity (2001) by Robert I — 22 Jan 2013
This is the kind of movie the critics love to tear apart. Why? There's no antagonist. Fate is essentially being a prick on the mortals for no reason except schadenfreude. The movie is borderline immoral.
But know what? For the hopeless romantics out there, like myself, this hits all the right notes and does not fail at filling one up with hope and faith. You can tear holes in it, but the purpose of most romantic comedies is to feel better about yourself.
Well, this film does that beautifully.
