Review of Seraphim Falls (2007) by Bobby H — 21 Sep 2008
A western that keeps true to old-time westerns with the entire plot focusing on "Revenge" and "Blood on hands". All of the actors done a great job, the scenery and music is great as well, but the plot is a bit simple.
While the movie is exciting - especially trying to figure out which character is the villian or not the villian and trying to figure out exactly why the chase is occuring, you cant help but get a tad bit bored with the chase for the entire movie. I think the writers were feeling the same way as there are a lot of strange and pointless twist towards the end of the movie that seem to keep it going when it should of been over.
Overall the movie is a great western that could of been a 5-star had it been a little shorter with some of the unneeded scenes cut out. However, dont let a few bad judgment calls stop you from watching it because it truly is a pretty good movie with some great revenge and morals hiding behind the cover and as strange and slow as it gets closes off with a pretty solid conclusion.
