Review of Sense and Sensibility (1995) by Louis L — 01 Jan 2010
Sense and Sensibility is a thoroughly enjoyable film that pulled me completely into Edwardian England. The satisfying script by Emma Thompson is witty and fast paced and not overly sentimental.
The film captures the essence of young love and heart break. Emma Thompson and Hugh Grant sparkle on screen. Kate Winslet and Allen Rickman also give strong performances. Sense and Sensibility transcends film and captures romance and human emotion as art. Very satisfying film. Highly recommended.
