Review of Sense and Sensibility (1995) by Justin M — 22 Jan 2010
This is a very good drama that makes me look forward to reading the book. The story is good, the script is terrific, and the acting is sublime. I thought Alan Rickman seemed a bit miscast (although he does a great job, as always), but maybe that's because he's so good at playing a character ranging from mildly slimy to downright sinister that it was tough to change gears when he played the virtuous Colonel.
This movie demonstrates once again how strong Ang Lee is at directing sensitive dramatic pieces.
