Review of Senna (2010) by Fernando B — 06 Jan 2012
Off the hook, wonderful, always interesting, stays with you when done, no voice over and what an induvidual. its probably better if you know nothing of formula 1 because when you watch the race snippets for the first time they will be more dramatic and add to allure of F1.
senna was a contradiction; born into extreme priviledge with movie star looks yet he wasn't arrogant, had a loving family, was incredibly intelligent, a super athlete, a kind and peaceful induvidual with the rarest of talents to become a 3 time F1 world champion (should have been 4 but F1 politics robbed him, a huge injustice, this is in the movie).
his death still resonates as some people really are so much more than their professional achievements. the movie didn't mention how loved he was by his sister's children but it comes across through different channels and despie his tragedy, you can't but help feel the same to walk away feeling better for the experience.
I think ayrton would approve. ; ).
