Review of Senna (2010) by James M — 25 Mar 2012
Pretty amazing. Gives an emotive and detailed account of rise of Senna and the politics and rivalries of the time. Can see how it would appeal to non-racing fans. I was too young to remember what he was like, just remember him being a driver, so in a way it was like nostalgia but giving those memories depth.
I felt torn throughout about who I felt was right, Senna or Prost. The quality of the footage and the way it is weaved into a strong storyline is an immense piece if filmmaking. Ive seen his crash before, but watching it now, feeling like you knew him a bit, is heartbreaking.
Such a talent lost, but a superb way to secure his legacy for those of us too young to remember.
