Review of Senna (2010) by Derrek W — 11 Apr 2012
Fascinating documentary used real footage throughout of the Formula 1 career of (in my opinion) the greatest driver of all time.
Senna was a genius, especially when it rained, he did things no-one else could and he HATED Alain Prost - who hated him back with equal measure.
A lot of the film is about the rivalry between the two drivers which makes for a really interesting premise, the differences between the flamboyant Brazilian playboy against the Professor Prost are huge, the only problem I have is the way that it really doesnt credit any other driver - its all about Senna. When another driver wins - he has a better car. Well.
Anyway, its a really good film and totally worth watching even if you arent a F1 fan - and I am most certainly not. The film was overlooked at this years Oscars - criminally. Its the best documentary of last year bar none.
Five Stars.
