Review of Senna (2010) by Jesse B — 17 Oct 2012
Documents the fantastic life of the late Ayrton Senna, a Formula One legend, so well, that in fact, my girlfriend actually willingly watched the entire thing with me- and she is far from a racing fan.
The documentary flows well, and describes everything in detail from his beginnings in go-karts to his tragic death in 1994. The movie may portray his friend and rival Alain Prost as the devil, but it is up to the viewer to understand what kind of person Prost was.
It's a documentary that doesn't go off-track (pun intended), picks the right interviews and images to display, and shows the emotion and humanity in F1. Loved every minute of it and it opens up the opportunity for this generation to learn about Formula One history. All in all, it's both informative and entertaining without adding any fluff. This is a film I will watch multiple times and recommend to any friend, racing fan or not.
