Review of Selma (2014) by Steviegjd — 31 Dec 2014
Selma is a very good film. The subject matter is important and meaningful. The acting is mostly very good, with David Oyelowo being excellent. While there are always disputes about "what really happened" in every historically based film, this movie puts the focus on the people of Selma who offered up their bodies and, in some instances, their lives, to raise the public consciousness.
I suspect many of the "negative" reviewers have trouble seeing through their Klan hoods.
