This film affected me more than any I've seen in years. The opening scene is as dramatic and shocking as Saving Private Ryan. I can't understand why it didn't receive the Best Picture Oscar.
Ava Duvernay has produced an extraordinary work that brings the turmoil of this period to the viewer and engages the heart and soul.
