Thankfully Selma doesn't need the validation of a bunch of 63-year-old white males from being a powerfully crafted and beautifully rendered work. Anchored by David Oyelowo's striking bravura and Ava DuVernay's strong direction, Dr.
King's message resonates as much now as it did 50 years ago, a stark reminder there is much work to be done.
