Review of Self/less (2015) by Guido S — 21 Nov 2015
An interesting premise where a rich dying tycoon wishes to have a new body and keep his memories, but there is a catch. Kind of reminds me of Mick Jager/Emilio Esteves/Anthony Hopkins joint called Freejack only not as good.
Starts off decent enough, but then goes about as cookie cutter movie plot line as it gets. Really, you could almost make this one of the following stories with minor changes: ghosts, Taken, revenge movie, giant conspiracy, Big Evil company.
Really just goes no where with such an interesting idea. Plus, even a great visionary director like Singh can't even make this look unique. It's about as generic as straight-to-VOD/DVD action thrillers get.
