Review of Self/less (2015) by Silver Screen S — 19 Dec 2015
I don't feel immortal.
A dying millionaire that is ready to die invests in a soul transfer technology into a younger body, but part of the transfer is giving up his past and rebuilding. He investigates his body and some visions he has while also monitoring his daughter from afar. These curiosities get him in trouble.
"We cater to the great.".
Tarsem Singh, director of The Cell, The Fall, Immortals, Mirror Mirror, and episodes from the television series Emerald City, delivers Selfless. The storyline for this picture is entertaining and worth following. It isn't Total Recall clever or action packed, but it is okay. The acting is better than average and includes Ryan Reynolds, Ben Kingsley, Derek Luke, Natalie Martinez, Matthew Goode, and Victor Garber.
"This isn't work. It's a bunch of children throwing a fit.".
My girlfriend thought this looked good when the previews came out for theatres. I honestly didn't remember it but grabbed it from Red Box. It was worth a viewing but it is probably a movie that you can wait for cable or Netflix.
"Death has its sacrifices.".
Grade: C+.
