Review of Seeking a Friend for the End of the World (2012) by Peter C — 04 Jul 2013
Seeking A Friend For The End Of The World, the phrase barge pole, with a, I wouldn't touch it, springs to mind.
The evening got off to an ominous start: my bottle of vanilla milk, which I had sneakily purchased from Asda, fell out of the bottomless cup holder and hurtled down the steeply raked auditorium, out of sight, out of mind.
Speaking of which, the following two hours of existential tedium edged me ever closer out of my mind: bleak theme (death, and the sudden onset thereof); bleak script (few laughs); and an even bleaker ending (about which my mate Paul said afterwards, "well, there will be no sequel then" - thankfully).
Avoid.
