Add this to that long list of movies with an interesting initial premise ultimately devolved into a paper-thin romantic comedy. Even exploration of a scared, uncertain pre-apocalyptic world through the eyes of Carell's detached character was a fascinating ride.

I just had trouble believing that he'd have the patience to spend his final days with Knightley's.
