The movie bobs and weaves in such a way that you never really know what to expect. While that is part of its charm, it also hinders it from being a wholly satisfying experience since it seems to be pulling in several different directions at once.
Still, Carell and Knightley share an effortless chemistry that keeps things afloat and provides unexpected poignancy.
