Review of Seeking a Friend for the End of the World (2012) by Thomas A — 12 Jul 2013
About halfway through, this movie stops cracking jokes. That's a wise decision. This was never meant to be simply a comedy; the laughs are there to draw the audience in. It starts off in an appropriately dark place and makes a bunch of apocalypse jokes, but what you don't realize is that it's really painting the backdrop for the second half of the movie.
No move on the actors' part feels forced, but entirely natural. This movie shows that finding the right person is more important than how much or how little time you might have with them.
