Review of Seed of Chucky (2004) by Andrew G — 08 Feb 2010
What do you know, another Child's Play sequel. And guess what? It sucks. As of 2010 this is the last film in this franchise, and I couldn't be happier because this franchise died straight after the second film's release.
In this entry we get a third live doll in the form Chucky's Son/Daughter, but the character is completely annoying and I wish they would have handled it better. As with every entry in the franchise, Chucky is still fun to watch, but the film-makers don't seem to be taking the idea seriously enough.
I understand it's meant to be humour based, but I wish it could follow the whole idea behind Freddy Krueger: a comedic villain who still acts as a true psycopathic killer. Although it's a Horror/Comedy, it falls into the traps I hate from horror films: Over the Top Gore, bad dialogue and unnecessary nudity (at one point from Tiffany the Doll).
I'll admit the death of Britney Spears in this was amazing to watch, Bravo.
