Review of Seed of Chucky (2004) by Scott S — 22 May 2009
Seed of Chucky (2004) -- [2.0] -- It's about what you would expect from the fifth entry in a second-tier horror franchise. Too spoofy for its own good, and even less interesting for the addition of the freakishly annoying Glen/Glenda character.
"Seed" also introduces just enough sentiment and cheese to wipe away all the franchise's former malicious glee. The puppets are less convincing than any previous models, and Jennifer Tilly -- used very well in "Bride of Chucky" -- is reduced to a screaming mess.
And I hate movies that use Hollywood as a gratuitous, gitchy backdrop.
