Review of See No Evil (2006) by Sam S — 05 May 2008
I was unfortunate enough to catch a late show of "See No Evil" back in 2006. Not Only do I want my time back, but would also like the gas money back I used to drive to the theater. While these things will never come back this movie probably won't either, be it on cable, or mass sale dvd, this movie is dead.
The premise is real straight, some inmates are sent on a community service job to clean up and old hotel. A hotel that houses a killer and big surprise, the killer is Kane as advertised on in the commercials.
There might be about 10 minutes of real cleaning up the hotel going on in this train wreck of a picture. Words like formula and cookie cutter come to mind when describing this movie. The story is real bland, the performances are nothing to talk about, and the special effects are low rent.
Not to mention a mass murderer that you see on a weekly wrestling show. This movie costs 8 million dollars to make, you can't really see where it went, but that's ok when the movie plays more like a comedy than a horror.
Flat out "See No Evil" would have been laughed at 20 years ago and is laughed at now.
