Review of Secrets & Lies (1996) by Brandon H — 07 Aug 2008
Good stuff. Heavyweight sadness movie.
I think Brenda's character got a little annoying and overboard in a few parts, but overall was rendered well. And I'm not so sure about Ortence (sp?)'s faces, they felt forced and awkward sometimes. And at rare moments it seemed a little overdramatic, but usually it was surprising how well they kept all this drama in check. Some interesting, engaging stuff.
Who was her father? Rapist? Hmm.
Upcoming: Rescue Dawn, The Deer Hunter, Eyes Wide Shut, Wrist Cutters.
Maybe: Hellboy 2, Death at a Funeral, Fracture, The Incredible Hulk.
I'll also probably be watching a couple new movies not on these upcoming lists this week in Michigan when we help my mom's boyfriend move. Hoorah surprises!
