Review of Secrets & Lies (1996) by Hannah D — 04 Nov 2010
Everyone has secrets, and everyone tells untruths; there is a multiplicity of both uncovered as a young woman searches for her birth mother. Marianne Jean-Baptiste was excellent as the adopted daughter in search of answers, as was Claire Rushbrook as her half-sister (although she looked much older than the age she was playing) but the rest of the film felt unfocused and unconvincing around them.
