Review of Secretary (2002) by Magician 2 The Blind — 29 Aug 2008
Spader thoroughly owns his role, channeling some of that perverse flair he had in Less Than Zero. Gyllenhaal, however, turns a potentially intriguing role into an unconvincing one, which made the silent-sexual-tension scenes rather awkward.
Beyond the decent acting and unclear histories of the characters, Secretary still provides a great dose of dark humor.
