Review of Secretary (2002) by Derek D — 24 Oct 2009

It's a very odd film, but 'odd' in a very complimentary way. I liked Maggie Gyllenhaal's quirky performance here, as much as I liked the concept of sadomasochism applied to the business relationship between employee and employeer.

Though mixing business with pleasure has never gotten this kinky of a treatment (at least in a Hollywood movie that is), it sets up many themes that were captivating as well as disturbing.
