It's not all about spanking -- though there's plenty of it in one particular scene. It's more about finding the person who will love you for who you are. He is a cold, emotionally-isolated perfectionist.
She loves the direction, discipline, and pain. Spanking is the language these two speak. They couldn't have picked a better pair than James Spader and Maggie Gyllenhaal. The chemistry is intense.
