Review of Secretary (2002) by David B — 29 Apr 2011
A very peculiar film. But one that shouldn't be judged by it's cover. A great film about 2 extremely troubled people that meet each other in normal circumstance. A film that shows the mental state of two people destined for each other and the world that pushes them aside.
James Spader is magnificent as the introverted and agoraphobic para legal. His creepiness and subtle mannerisms bring such a dark yet empathetic undertone to his character.
Maggie Gylanhaal is fantastic as the self harming troubled soul and plays her as if she's normal and the rest if the world us crazy!
A great film that needs to be seen! Breakdown or not!
