A barely disguised kinkster movie, its the only one of an admittedly few I've seen that wasn't some stupid soft porn piece of crap. It is actually quite thoughtful in the details as to how such a relationship may evolve between similarly inclined but opposite personalities.

It didn't take itself that seriously and humor kept it going more than once. Some of the characters are pathetically similar to real people. Spader and Gyllenhaal are both good, but Gyllenhaal should've been nominated for Best Kinky Actress or something.

You can really believe she's what she portrays onscreen.
