I came into this movie knowing that Secretariat won the Belmont Stakes by a dominating 31 lengths and that Secretariat was one of the most dominating horses in the history of the sport. So how do you make a horse that dominating an underdog to fit with the sports movie formula? Exaggerate the financial issues and make the owner of the horse Sham, a villain of course.
This was not exactly true. Let's face it, Disney and History do not mix. Notable for inventive camera work of the horse racing.
