Review of Secretariat (2010) by Christopher T — 11 Aug 2011
Do we really need another horse race film? I would have to say, after watching Secretariat, Yes. Any movie that starts and finishes with the narration of the book of Job and it not coming off as contrived, good film making.
Just like the horse itself, all you had to do is hold on and you knew you were apart of something great. It was a great story, almost too great. John Malkovich is always a joy to watch. Diane Lane is best in period pieces.
So, I would recommend this film to anyone. Great story, good acting, good film and a nice night to be had by all. Too bad it was not released in cinemas in Australia. It would have been great on the big screen.
