From Flixster reviews, the consensus is that Johnny Depp is very good in this. Truth. Koepp keeps hinting in the danged film that he fixed Stephen King's ending however. While I do prefer his ending, it is obnoxious how he warns the audience beforehand.

I do give him credit for doing what Darabont later does for "The Mist" by changing the finale to be much darker. The film is about 95 minutes long, but feels much longer. I kind of wish they got to the point/twist sooner as that amps the film back up.
