I was prepared to say that this was a pretty good remake. Not as good as the original, but a movie, if you'd never seen the original Oscar winning film, you could enjoy. And then they fucked up the ending!!
They not only Hollywood-ized the film's ending, thus giving it away, but they changed it as well, and thus taking away what made the original so great. This is a murder/mystery with an added pinch of a love story. The original is a love story built around a murder/mystery.
Just see the original. It's better, and will leave you with a much better feeling than this will.
