Review of Seconds Apart (2011) by Roxanne R — 03 Jun 2011
I don't recall seeing previous work by director Antonio Negret and this one was quite good, keeps you in a little bit of suspense and makes you so glad you are not in these character's shoes especially the detective! Also the twins played by Edmund and Gary Entin were so attractive! Wow, they look identical.
..hard to tell them apart but bravo to the casting director and the twins who did a wonderful job acting the part of smart yet diabolical twins...So what is this movie about? Seth and Jonah are twins with a dangerous ability called telekinesis.
They decide to start a project where they film people having hallucinations induced by the twins. In this hallucinations they either commit suicide or get killed.. Things start to spiral out of their control as their classmates end up dying in twisted and bizarre ways so Detective Lampkin (Orlando Jones) gets called to head this strange case and finally finds redemption along the way.
...It is a gloomy, sad movie- from beginning to end and I give credit to Negret for being able to capture that essense, that atmosphere during the whole movie. The twins were brilliant and very cute. Along comes a girl that threatens to tear their project and them apart.
..good plot and definitely recommended!!
