I'm sure we all have times (or will have times) when we think it would be nice to be young again, to be provided with an easy and carefree lifestyle, absolved of personal responsibility and surrounded by the trappings of success.
Arthur Hamilton discovers that the reality doesn't match the fantasy... having traded Weltschmerz for hedonism and found only emptiness, he finds himself trapped: unable to fit in in either world.
