Review of Secondhand Lions (2003) by Venca B — 17 Jun 2010
This is normally the sort of film I would avoid like the plague, it is not my kind of film at all really, but I came accross it for the first time on Tv I think and thought it was fantastic. 2 great performances from Robert Duvall and Michael Caine make this film a real treat almost a guilty pleasure.
Watching this film gives you a warm feeling it's kind of like a modern fairytale. The story has a young boy spending the summer under protest with his 2 eccentric uncles on their reclusive farm. During his time with them he discovers they were great adventurers in their youth and yearns to find out more of their brave adventures and loves lost.
A real hidden gem this film and one that deserves to be watched.
