Review of Searching for Sugar Man (2012) by Michael Z — 31 Jan 2014
In the opposite way that Exit through the Gift Shop succeeded in shifting gracefully from a mysterious, underground art documentary to a stunning biographical one, Searching for Sugar Man's dividing line is too abrupt, disjointing the film. And with little to ponder in the first half, and little to look at in the second, the resulting film is divided against itself, and surprise! Surprise! It cannot stand.
*1.5/4*.
