F you have not seen the movie "Searching for Sugar Man" (2012) you should do so now. I & Dick (Rich) Low had a record store in Pittsburgh from 1969 to 1973(?). I was also writing a music column for 3 area newspapers then.

I vaguely remember Rodriguez's first record mostly from the cover (a handsome lad). I passed over it because the label (Sussex) was not "hip" and one needle drop on a grove led me to think Dylan/Donovan wannabe.

In retrospect I was such an ass ( I guess maybe I still am). In a very small way I contributed to the lost recognition of a now proven genius. Spoiler alert - I'm glad he's still alive - not bitter and at peace.
