Review of Searching for Bobby Fischer (1993) by Michael B — 19 Dec 2009
I know, I give all movies 5 stars, but this time I (also) really mean it.
This was a really good movie! There are some pretty interesting ideas in it, and which the film have left zooming around in my head: basically his two different chess teachers, and what they each represent ... can be applied to much more than just chess. Chess is just one form the problem can take of what it is that makes something or someone a real artist. While watching the two different teachers teach, I kept getting glimpses of so much more than the movie itself, and this is the sign of a work of art (or good movie).
