Review of Searching for Bobby Fischer (1993) by Looney T — 17 Nov 2007
One of my very favorite movies. I'm a chess freak anyway, but this movie is really about a boy and his father and the pressure his chess talent puts on their relationship. Max Pomeranc is a revelation, Joe Mantegna is always excellent, as is Kingsley.
Laurence Fishburne is pitch perfect and Joan Allen is a queenly delight.
