Review of Searching (2018) by C R — 31 Aug 2018
Go with zero expectation, and for the next hour and a half, you get to live, breathe and ride the emotional rollercoaster from John Cho's (David Kim's) point of view. The movie is not perfect, but from the very first "click," Aneesh Chaganty's narrative ingenuity and the extremely relatable family (that just happens to be Asian-American, which is cool) will suck you in.
If you are anything like me, it is best to see SEARCHING on a giant screen while seeing it with a bunch of people you know. Why? Because you will want to share and discuss the details of your movie experience immediately afterwards, WITHOUT spoiling it for others who haven't seen it yet.
