Review of Seabiscuit (2003) by James H — 21 Mar 2011
"Every horse is good for somethin'".
Based on a book, based on a true story-.
Despite the raising odds, a millionaire and a horse whisperer bring in a young man to train and race a seemingly useless horse that winds up in the spotlight of fame during the early 1900s post- Depression era.
It's an enjoyable, slow, feel-good ride on the saddle type of movie that you must pay close attention to or else you'll miss everything. It could play off as an inspirational tale and feels quite like something that Hallmark could possibly produce. Good but safe-feeling. William H. Macy makes the film a little more fun with his radio personality role.
