Review of Sea of Love (1989) by Burt M — 25 Aug 2008
A terrible film- fails as a cop thriller, fails as a film noir, fails as a sexually-charged drama. Mainly the film fails in that as the femme fatale the filmmakers cast Ellen Barkin, one of the most unappealing actresses in the last 30 years.
I find it hard to believe that anyone who fall for, or be attracted to Ellen Barkin. That's too much of a stretch of the ye old imagination. That and John Goodman as a cop. Maybe a secuirty guard at a doughnut factory, but a cop, no way.
Avoid at all costs.
