Review of Sea of Love (1989) by Stu R — 04 Nov 2006
Al Pacino kicks ass in this taut, exiciting, sexy thriller. The completely un-attractive Ellen Barkin even manages to get my juices flowing, although she does look more slutty than sexy. This is a top-rate murder mystery and the only thing that lets it down in the last 5 minutes where it delves into stupid cliches.
Fortunatly, this has nothing to do with the actual murder plot and so doesn't ruin the film. Definatly one of the best films of the 80's, and one of Pacino's top performances. John Goodman is also very amusing as Pacino's partner and the comic relief.
