Review of Se7en (1995) by Bobdotexe — 30 Nov 2014
The first 45 or so minuets of this movie feels the need to have dramatic/tense music playing..
The whole time..even for everything. The acting was pretty good, but the story was very weak.
The two detectives 'work' a case, and by work I mean go to some crime scenes, they only actually get any progress when they use a deus ex machina system to find out who the killer is. all his crimes are themed. and when they finally meet up with him, there is a pretty good discussion about what he's doing and why. and he says he has a big surprise that will 'change everything'. I'm not going to spoil what that is. but it just turns out to be a very generic 'chasing the killer' movie style ending.
Before this event, one of the detective even says "you're noting important. you're just a weekend move, no one will remember you after a week" and that's exactly how the ending of this film is. Forgettable, unoriginal, and it dose not really connect with the progression with the rest of the movie.
