"The world is a fine place, and worth fighting for". I agree with the second part." - Ernest Hemingway.

David Fincher has directed many great films. He has made this film, "The Game," "Fight Club," "Zodiac," "Social Network," and "The Girl With The Dragon tattoo." But none of those films were as good as Se7en. Se7en reaches another level of suspense, and genius that people like Alfred Hitchcock were able to reach. It is intense and awesome. A film that truly did deserve a 10/10. It is clever, witty, and loaded with twists and unexpected things. It's disturbing, and gross at times. It's a film that you have to try to imagine it happening, because it actually could. There wasn't anything in this film that I felt like was unrealistic, so when you imagine it happening it is so creepy.

A Police officer named William Somerset (Morgan Freeman) who is going to retire in seven days is paired up with a new partner named David Mills (Brad Pitt). On their first day they are called to a crime scene where a morbidly obese man has been found dead, and it looks like he has been feed to death. The word "Gluttony" was written on the wall. Gluttony is the sin of over eating and being obese. There are seven deadly sins. "Gluttony," "Greed," "Pride," "Lust," "Wrath," "Envy," and "Sloth.".

The murder that represents "greed" is the killing of a rich attorney. The attorney had made millions for keeping the rich on the streets. He was a liar, and a scumbag attorney. He didn't deserve to die, but he wasn't a good person though. It kind of makes you think because he kills people who he thinks are bad so it is interesting, but really twisted.

"Sloth" is the sin of laziness. In the bible it refers to ignoring, what God has spoken, but it could also mean just laying around and not doing anything with your life.

-----spoiler alert-----.

When they find the victim of sloth it is a man that looks like he has been dead for a really long time, and then suddenly comes to life. It just about gives you a heart attack when you see it, because it is totally unexpected. The killer had kept him alive there for about a year.

-----end of spoiler alert-----.

The "Lust" victim is the most disturbing one. It is the type of thing that to even think about when writing a script is sick. "Lust" means sexual addiction, so he kills a prostitute. The victim of "Pride" is a model who he disfigures her face, and gives her an option to call the police so she will live but be disfigured, or take a full bottle of pills, and kill yourself. She killed herself because she was so ugly on the inside that she couldn't live if she weren't beautiful on the outside.

John Doe (Kevin Spacey) is the name of the serial killer. You don't see Kevin Spacey's face until the end, but once he is in it he is really good. He was in this movie, and The Usual Suspects in the same year. He was fantastic in both movies, and he played completely different roles in both of them. In this movie he played a monotone, insane psychopath, who is as sick as it gets. This film really shows you how sick a person can be. He thinks that what he has done will be studied and remembered. I agree that he would be remembered, and he would be famous for what he did, but it wouldn't be studied. I think his work would be related to other things when they talk about the seven deadly sins.

Detective Mills (Brad Pitt), and Somerset (Morgan Freeman) have a funny relationship. They never agree on anything, because they are polar opposites. Mills is a funny guy, but Somerset is a really brilliant guy who asks to many questions that annoy other cops. They never are in full agreement until the end. Morgan Freeman play himself in this movie, but Brad Pitt was great. He was very funny, and this role really did stick out for him.

The movie has one of the best endings of all time, which I can't ruin for you. The movie is one that I can watch any time it is one, because it is so good. I have it on dvd, and I have watched the film about seven times actually. It has brilliant directing, cinematography, acting, with an inconceivable plot. One of my all time favorites.
