Review of Se7en (1995) by Austin H — 12 Apr 2013
Seven - Released in 1995 when a lot of people were still saying 'Brad who?'.
The movie opened with a decent 14 million and went on the way to grossing over 300 million worldwide. Shot on a budget of only 33 million (which is Monopoly money in today's market of film budgets) Seven works so well because it does not rely on constant gore to shock its audience.
The acting is flawless, and the ending is the most terrifying since Alfred Hitchcock masterpiece, 'Psycho'.
