Review of Scrooged (1988) by Rob Ó — 16 Dec 2013
The overall heart of the film is there and Murray is as lovably antagonistic as ever, and while it admirably turns certain clichés on their heads, it's missing that final finishing touch to make it more than just average.
Jokes just aren't tight enough, resolutions just aren't convincing enough, the entire climax is trying to be a tear-jerker and it never succeeds beyond merely satisfying.
