This is one of the best versions of A Christmas Carol and an excellent film for Christmas. Boasting a superb cast including Albert Finney who is excellent as Scrooge and Obi Wan himself Alec Guiness as Marley the Ghost it really is a classic.

Itâ(TM)s a bit different to other versions firstly being a musical with some great songs and additional scenes that were not in the book such as the chilling sequence where Scrooge actually goes to hell is brilliant and slightly disturbing. Also the scene where the hot soup man is dancing on Scrooges coffin on a moving horse and carriage singing thank you very much is a bit different. My favourite scenes though are the ones with Kenneth More as the Ghost of Christmas present who has some brilliant dialogue with Albert Finney trying to show him the error of his ways with some great put downs.

For a film that was made forty years ago it is just timeless with an epic quality with so much attention to detail with its massive sets and large sequences giving it a real Christmas feel good factor. A true Christmas classic.
