Review of Scream 4 (2011) by Sinisteris T — 24 Jun 2013

I went into this thinking what a load of crap this is going to be, given how scream 3 turned out. Yet, I have to say I was generally surprised, and found this to be very enjoyable. One of the things that is great about the scream franchise is they poke fun at other horror films.

Not only did this film do that in a fun and playful way, it also poked fun at itself. This film held up very well, was fun and interesting. A little predictable at times, but overall the murder/action scenes were pretty fun to watch as well.

Not terribly scary, but these films have never really been very scary. I thought this film held very true to the franchise, and did a great job with the setting and cast. What I think hurt this film was the ending, and the reveal.

I thought it was kind of stupid, and seemed a little extreme of a motive. Overall, I enjoyed this film, and it is probably the second best one, which I feel it is only second to the original. That is how I praise it.

So if you are fan of scream, I highly recommend this film.
