Review of Scream 4 (2011) by Kyle C — 26 Jul 2015
Well, the Slasher movie is back, at least for now. Way back in 1996, a movie named Scream came out which revived the Slasher movie. There were then 2 more sequels which kept it strong. But ever since then, all the horror movies that have come out have kinda lost the slasher and were all over the map (with the exception of Sorority Row).
Now, 15 years after the original, the Scream cast is back and it is a hell of a bloody good time. I don't know if the slasher genre is dead (no pun intended) but if it is, what a way to go. Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox and David Arquette reprise their roles of the 3 Woodsboro murder survivors.
But this killer is different and smarter, or at least they think they are smarter. It is a fitting end to the Scream series if it is indeed the last one (it's Hollywood so who knows anymore) and I can almost guarantee that no one will predict the killer in this one, I'm usually spot on for these and I had no idea, but it worked and that's all that matters.
So, if you are a fan of the original 3 movies give it a shot. If you're looking for a bloody good time, give it a shot. If you don't like horror movies, then why are you reading this. Very good, from a huge horror fan.
