Review of Scream 4 (2011) by Torion O — 09 Nov 2018

I've only been pissed off by two movies: the 1979 film Stalker which is absolute garbage, and the 2017 live action film adaptation of Death Note which destroys its source material. This film here, Scream 4, managed to piss me off.

Everyone is completely incompetent, and the film's meta dialogue emphasizes how stupid everyone is. The killer's motivation is pretty dumb as well, though so was every previous killer's motivation.

There's too much stupidity to rant about so I'll only talk about two characters who were so infuriatingly stupid I wanted to break something. Two cops get stationed outside the targeted people's resident houses, and when the killer shows up in one of their closets and there's a full minute of three girls screaming as the killer throws around one of them the cops stay in the car and don't do anything because they apparently did not hear anything.

The original main character leaves her house, yells at the cop's car (though they apparently don't hear that either), breaks into the other house, and goes through a fight with the killer, and only after she knocks the killer to the ground do the cops come in only to be of no use because the killer pulled one of those disappearing acts that are realistically impossible but happen in movies anyway.

There's a second scene with these morons where they're again stationed outside the targeted people's houses (somehow, even after Dewey who is himself incompetent as hell was disappointed in their incompetence) where the killer runs up and stabs one of them in the back as he is talking with the other who had JUST JUMP SCARED HIM BECAUSE HE'S A ^%*&!#@ MORON NOT DOING HIS *%$^&@! JOB, and this same guy watches the other cop get stabbed and is like "what in tarnation just happened?" and he steps out of the car like a *^%#&!^ moron and gets murdered by the killer.

He then slowly stumbles away from the killer as the killer watches and falls onto the concrete after saying something stupid and dies. Everything about this is frustrating.
